Our small and remote business has proven to be consistent and successful largely due to taking pre-booked guests only. This enables us to be organised and well prepared ahead of welcoming incoming guests.

Should you decide to arrive at Jara spontaneously to enjoy a Day Pass experience, a 25% premium to your ticket will apply.

Power Guidelines ⚡

Since inception we've operated fully off-grid. We run on a mix of solar/ inverters and generators.

Light / plugs for small devices will run around the clock. 24 hours.

We provide fans, Smart TVs, along with power for light and plugs.

Air-Conditioners and Water Heaters will operate between the following times:

5pm – 7pm and 9pm – 10am

It's true! All of your food and drink (including popular alcoholic beverages) are included within your booking fee. We very much welcome children of all ages and do our best to create the most welcoming environment. However, we remain an ocean resort in west Africa and certain parental preparation is still required (whether food, or insect related for example).

Jara’s arrival and departure times are based around the most efficient travel times. From VI to Jara, you should allow 60-75 minutes.

Expected Behaviour 📋

Please kindly be reminded that there are other guests at Jara during your visit, including families with children who would like to enjoy the facilities, including the swimming pool.

Jara is a family-run resort is designed to consider all guests. As a result we do have firm expectations around our guest’s respectful conduct. Our House Rules are expected to be respected.

We receive visits from State agencies and law enforcement - often unannounced. We thank you for your support and understanding.

Lost and Found 🧐

Accepted Answer

While the team will endeavour to locate any missing items and return them to the front desk team, Jara Beach Resort is not responsible for personal items left by guests, anywhere on the property. Please check that you have all of your personal possessions ahead of your departure.

Any item located can be collected from the resort, delivered to your address at your expense, or collected from our Ikoyi office (6 Olu Holloway Rd).

Question 14

Mosquitoes 🦟

We don't have too many mozzi's as we're very close to the ocean (a good breeze), however we:

• have Mozzi paint on some interiors
 • provide complimentary all natural Jara oil which contains lemon and lemongrass known to be natural mosquito repellents
 • spray rooms if required during dinner
 • provide mosquito nets
 • provide clothes patches gratis
 • use citronella candles etc

Jara plays an eclectic mix of music to suit all tastes. We have a curated mix of tunes aligned with the following schedule:

Nannies 🙋‍♀️

Jara welcomes Nannies for Day or Overnight visits.

For Day Passes, Nanny passes are limited to 1 per child, maximum 3 nannies per booking. Nanny prices are listed on our Day Pass page,(https://www.jarabeachresort.com/day-pass) and can be added to your booking.

Nannies are expected to visit in a supporting capacity only - no use of the snack station, separate lunch menu.

For Overnight visits,(https://www.jarabeachresort.com/overnight) Nannies are priced the same as children, if staying in the same room as others. Importantly; if you'd like to have a Nanny sleep in a separate room, you will need to allocate a second adult in the booking system (as allocating a Nanny with no adult will not be permitted).

Pets 🐕

Jara has a No Pets policy. We have formed our offering around the wishes of the large majority of guests. In the past we have offered Dog-Friendly days, but these were not popular enough to apply as a regular fixture in the calendar. We do love pets, but also have to consider our Turtles 🐢🐢

Rates 🏷️

Overnight and Day Pass rates are stated on their respective booking page. Our pricing varies seasonally and is Priced Per Person, on an all-inclusive basis.

Security 👮‍♀️

We have armed guards patrolling around the clock - 24 hours a day. You may not always see them, but they are very much on site.

We are also well connected and supportive of the local community, who in turn support our special beach business.

External Mopol / Personal Attachments
Uniformed police/ MOPOL / personal attachments are not permitted to be uniformed, or carrying weapons inside Jara Beach Resort (on the sand) - their access is limited to the entrance and back of the property, only. We are a serene and tranquil private beach resort.

Shisha 💨

Accepted Answer

Shisha is available at the same time alcohol is served; from 12noon-12midnight, daily and can be ordered at the Front Desk or via SABIS. Shisha coal will be replaced once as standard and you can expect to enjoy for one to one and a half hours.

​Shisha is not permitted in rooms, thatched areas, or balconies/ verandas. The main terrace, poolside, fire pit or beachfront are all available to enjoy. Shisha menu below:

Question 22

Pre-Visit Tours 📍

Accepted Answer

Should you wish to take a tour of Jara ahead of your visit, you may do so for up to 30 minutes, for N25,000 - this covers two people and includes a welcome soft drink.

Priced at N10,000 per person thereafter. This must be booked / arranged in advance (please email ahead) - any fee paid is then removed from the total of any booking secured within one month of the tour.

This helps to maintain privacy to on-site guests.

Question 23

Smoking 🚭

Accepted Answer

Smoking is only permitted in designated areas of the resort as well as on bedroom balconies (only). A N100,000 fee applies to any guest who chooses to smoke in a bedroom or indoor area.

The use of marijuana and other illegal drugs is strictly prohibited.

Taxes 🏦

All pricing excludes;

• 5% consumption tax (LIRS - Lagos State)
 • 7.5% VAT (FIRS - Federal Government)

These are mandatory obligations and LCNL is committed to fulfilling these remittances, monthly.

Towels 🚿

We provide room towels and robes for overnight guests. These are the property of Jara Beach Resort and must not be removed.

Both overnight and Day Pass guests can expect to make use of the cabana/ beach towels, also provided complimentary for use while with us.
